Have you wondered that once a person gets used to getting hurt time and again, feeling cared for can actually surprise them and could also get them very suspicious about ulterior motives? Hahaha no for reals, trust issues do have the capability of ruining something nice. One can get so used to the mindset that — everyone is stupid and is not capable of having the real discussions.
But if I have learnt one thing over these years is that — good friendships and relationships come and feel easy. You don’t feel like you are doing some extra chore in the day by giving time to them, it just comes naturally and you adjust accordingly. Confusion and doubts get thrown out the window, the only thing that remains is constant efforts, great emotional support, and lots of love.
This paragraph I have written above is for all the best people I have gotten in my life. You guys know who you are <3
No more monthly updates?
I have decided this year to provide more generic than monthly updates (no, I am not giving excuses since I am writing after 3 months). In fact, I got a feedback saying these monthly updates don’t make sense unless you are giving them in the same month. Hence I decided to make a lil bit of a change and just share my experiences here.
Too many firsts this year…
Yes I had way too many firsts at the beginning of the year itself! I mean they aren’t some big things but the series of them (trying new things in short) made me feel better :)
Watched a cricket match for the first time in stadium
The feeling of watching a match live in stadium is just surreal. You suddenly tend to vibe with the crowd regardless of whether they know you; supporting the same team, watching the sixers and fours, wickets taken, good fielding, and more, it just feels so good! Ended up getting a bad throat due to all the cheering we did for that match, but overall it was worth the money spent
Got a chance to visit a podcaster’s summit and meet fellow podcasters
Now this was something I didn’t expect this year. Looking at the professional studio(At Sakaal) where all the magic happens felt too amazing. I started my podcast with the motive of getting more genuine experiences and stories out of people about their careers, and that too it was a side hustle. Having content creation, news, media, and keeping up with current trends as your main career path feels damn difficult for some reason. Major respect to everyone who is thriving and making a living out of it!
Visited Delhi for the very first time( First North India visit!).
This year started with going to North India for the very first time, that too Delhi, and that too during winters (Yes I decided to be super bold and go during winters). Honestly I am glad I took this chance because it was a very wholesome experience. I weirdly liked the cold weather along with the winter clothing I wore everyday. The only city which is has such large population, major traffic, lots of markets, great metro, awesome food, and such different vibe (good ones only). The gallis freaked me out a bit but slowly got used to them too.
Tried good veg food (especially paneer, hehe).
It is definitely a struggle to find good paneer in general (like the soft one which literally melts in your mouth) and having it almost daily just made my days better, haha. Delhi is known for good food, and honestly it lives up to the hype it has earned. The golgappe, chaap, paneer, chinese, momos, and everything… is just yummy (AF). Next time I really want to try non vegetarian food as well 😛
Attended a proper North Indian wedding.
India is known for having super shimmery and enthusiastic weddings, especially the ones that happen in North India. I always had this one thing — that I want to attend like a proper North Indian wedding, and I did 💖. Got to see lots of rituals closely, danced in the sangeet, vibed with friends and family, dressed up and followed the themes religiously, and most importantly had good food. (Yeah, all these things in my bucket list are happening which I never would have thought could happen — I mean this soon, hehe)
Danced sober infront of everyone
This point should literally speak for itself considering I am a shy person and dancing on a song infront of a friend’s relatives should be hitting my anxiety chords. But damn, I danced haha not very well but I did. (Go lil rockstar moment)
Met all the favorite Twitter people at one place.
This was like a rare occurrence where you meet people from different cities at one place (major thanks to Aditi for inviting us to her brother’s wedding). If you had asked me 2 years back whether I would meet these people in real life, I would have been like “No way!”. But damn, we all have come a long way since 🥺.
Tried golfing for the first time
I got a chance to visit a golfing club along with my colleagues on a Sunday. At first I was skeptical because golf seems like a sport which business deals happen and usually rich old people play (yes pure stereotypes). Well, I am so glad I decided to play because it’s a very interesting sport with a very peculiar skill set. Hitting the golf ball to certain yards gives pure bliss and suddenly you are focused on just getting the technique right. We also had a chance to do putting (pronounced differently); a very out of the box experience indeed!
Visited a water park for the first time
However surprising it sounds, I had my first water park experience literally in March. My friends and I decided to go to a water park on the day of Holi, because it is damn fun. I was nervous at first because I didn’t have any experience; well it was the best experience ever! Going on water rides feels just too good and the slides are way too scary BUT FUNNNNNNN!
Started skincare
And what can I say — I feel pampered everyday while I go to sleep. I did a thorough research before starting anything though. Till now, it’s going good.
That’s way more expected firsts in the first quarter of the year. I sometimes feel that I should be truly grateful for having some awesome and fun experiences with the people I care for. Looking forward to more such out of the box experiences in the rest of 2023!
Oh I also made vlogs about my Delhi trip…

Was planning on discontinuing this…
I was honestly planning on discontinuing the “Adulting and all” series, but apparently we would never stop adulting as such ever from now on (20s is a weird age to be in). Hence this issue came to its existence. I know I am so late to write the issue #8; work has gotten hectic a bit along with some other things. So pardon any grammar mistakes or overly worded sentences (bhavnaye samjho).
If you made it till the end of the newsletter, you guys are really amazing and I love y’all. And if you honestly liked this issue, please subscribe for more and share it with your friends.
